Crop circle north of Kansas City International Airport is a message, an advertising message

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A mysterious crop circle in the shape of a man within a circle that appeared in a field north of KCI a few days ago is part of a new marketing campaign by Spirit Airlines, a person familiar with the campaign confirmed Wednesday.

The “sign” had become a source of much speculation after fliers began sharing images of it on social media.

The large crop circle was positioned just beneath the main departure route from the airport.

The cheeky image of a man covering himself is meant to promote Spirit’s “Bare Fares,” and is accompanied by billboards around the airport and new design to the Spirit website and social media accounts.

Officials from Spirit did not return requests for comment on Wednesday night.
