KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Small business owner Phil Glynn has announced he's running for mayor of Kansas City in 2019.

“My time around the country and globe has made me appreciate the work ethic, pride and potential we have in our hometown,” said Glynn in a press release. “It’s also shown me how other cities are creatively solving the same problems we face here in KC. If we all come together to face these issues, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.”

Glynn and his wife, Elizabeth, own Travois. The business, located in the Crossroads district, creates affordable housing and economic developments for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities.
