KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A dog that survived being hit by a semi-truck is getting better.
Jennifer was brought to the Great Plains SPCA last week after being hit by the truck in Independence.
Veterinarians had to remove one of her toes but they were able to save her leg. She can’t move yet and may still need surgeries on her hip and right foot but her caretakers are optimistic.
“She has done very well with everyone she has met. She’s not afraid to soak up love and give out kisses, certainly not a feral dog. She’s a dog who lost her way and would certainly fit into another family,” Rachel Hodgson with Great Plains SPCA said.
The cost of Jennifer’s care continues to climb. You can help by donating here.
