Gloria Craft no longer has the panoramic view of her backyard. Instead she's forced to look at all the weed overgrowth along her fence line.

"From weeds to trees that go so far up that you can't even see their house," Craft said.

She has tried to let everyone know about the problem.

"I called the City Council office, city action center, city ethics hotline," Craft said.

Her 311 calls led to city inspectors filing three violations against the property owner at 3637 Olive, one of the houses directly behind Craft's.

No one answered the door at the house so 41 Action News went to the property owner's listed address.

Jarell Coody wasn't home; his sister answered the door who laughed at the problem.

Back on Olive, next door – it's a different story.

Craft told 41 Action News there used to be a house at 3635 Olive, which is now a vacant lot and much of the overgrowth is going right into her yard.

The listed owner for 3635 Olive lives in California.

41 Action News spoke with her over the phone. She claims she sold the property but couldn't say to whom.

The city did send an inspector late last month but said the problem was resolved.

"I did drive around there and I did see the grass was mowed," Craft said.

The grass was mowed but most of the weed overgrowth and trash was left behind.

Craft is fed up with it.

"I just want to retire [and] just stop worrying so much about stuff," she said.

A KCMO spokesperson told 41 Action News Thursday afternoon that Craft will have to file a report again with 311 and request that the inspector come look at the problem from her side.
