KANSAS CITY, Mo. - What do you get when you cross an environmentalist with a rock legend? Eco Elvis.
Eco Elvis, also known as Matt Riggs, performs at local schools, libraries and conferences, to bring awareness to environmental issues such as climate change.
After this week’s release of the climate report, he’s on a mission to get the word out about how we all can be better toward the environment.
Riggs started his alter ego 17 years ago when he thought recycling events were too boring. “It’s the most important issue of the 21st century, and we all have to get onboard,” Riggs said. “The great thing about it, even though it’s been politicized, it’s a completely apolitical issue in my book. It’s a human issue. We all face this; we all need clear air; we all need clean water.”
Riggs has two albums of popular Elvis songs with the lyrics changed to more environmentally friendly tunes. For more information, click here.
