A long-time employee was busted for allegedly embezzling thousands from his Kansas City employer.
Prosecutors said Rodney Tatum used company money to buy $300,000 worth of computer and communication equipment and then resold it for cash.
Tatum worked for Clarkson Construction.
Prosecutors said pictures from Tatum’s Facebook page show possible purchases. They include a boat, an RV and a motorcycle.
“You just need to have a good check and balance system within your operation, and make sure that you don’t put all your eggs in one basket,” Ed DeMoss, risk manager for Clarkson Construction, said.
Tatum worked as the heat of IT for the company. He worked there for more than 20 years.
