KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Father's day is Sunday, but on Tuesday night, one Kansas dad got a very special honor.
Steve Huff of Topeka was named the Kansas City Father of the Year. He was honored before Tuesday’s Royals game at Kauffman Stadium.
His son Braxton wrote an essay about why his dad is the greatest. He tells us he actually wrote it for extra credit. Steve says he's proud of his son.
“I’m just ecstatic. He’s been a lot of fun. He’s a great kid. He’s a joy to have as a son. I’m impressed by him,” Huff said.
The award was presented by the National Center for Fathering.
