It’s an office made for the creative!

Lego Land will hold a competition this weekend to find the next Lego builder to create new masterpieces.

"There really is no full requirement, just that you are creative, you can really build well, and really interact with the public and the kids," said Lego Land Communications Manager Elizabeth Mathews.

But it's only one job, only one person can hold the title of master builder, leaving others job seekers still looking.

Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released September job numbers indicating a cut in the number U.S. companies hiring.  There were only 142,000 jobs added. Also fewer jobs were added in July and August than once thought.

"Sprint and Ford both are in the top five employers in the metro area," said Executive Director of Workforce Partnership Scott Anglemye, who helps people find jobs.

At the Ford Claycomo Plant, a strike is looming, and employees could walk this Sunday.

"Certainly you've got people that are out on strike and aren't spending as much money, that's going to ripple through the economy," said Anglemyer.

As for Sprint, the company plans to cut two billion from its bottom line. Friday the company told us they still don't know how many jobs will be gone.

"Some of those Sprint jobs are some of the best jobs in the metro area, so you are having high wage earners that are losing their jobs, they're not going to land the same kinds of jobs that they had before," said Anglemyer.

Anglemeyer says there's hope and people are jobs.

“The economy is doing fairly well and people are landing jobs, maybe they are not landing their ideal jobs, maybe those jobs aren’t paying as much as they used to, or aren’t seeing the kind of wages increases we like to have but people are finding work,” Anglemeyer said.
