Kansas City, Mo. - Three Kansas City police officers are recovering after a house explosion sent them to the hospital Saturday evening.
Officials were called to a fire at a house at 29th and Olive following a small explosion after 5 p.m. Saturday.
The police officers ran into the home before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters said they put the fire out.
Three police officers were taken to the hospital as a precaution after authorities said they may have been exposed to hazardous chemicals in the home. Officials said they were doing fine Sunday afternoon.
One person was taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
The neighborhood was blocked off for several hours.
