Frigid temperatures did not stop football fans from tailgating before the Chiefs and Raiders match up Thursday.

The cold forecast meant only one thing to football fans.

"Just how many heaters we brought," said Lori Dobrisky.

"It's an important game; we wanted to get here bright and early," her husband, Shannon, added.

Gates opened at noon. Fans lined up hours before to get the best spot.

"I left work at 10 this morning, came straight out here and we got our tarps out," said Devon Perry. "We got our heaters and coffee."

Not all fans had that mentality.

Several watched the tailgating festivities from their heated vehicles.

"We have some friends who tailgate every game, but we're not going to join them today," said Kathy Addington. "Sometimes, it's a little frightening. But we always have a great time."

Though the temperature was low, spirits and hopes were at an all-time high.
