KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Time is running out for neighborhoods to get Google Fiber's new ultra high-speed Internet service.
Telephone campaigns continued for neighborhood association volunteers who were trying to sign up enough homeowners to meet the required 10 percent participation qualification.
The Google Fiber deadline is approaching and there are still a lot of area neighborhoods that have not turned green on the "Fiberhood" map.
Carlos Casas works for Google and spent his Saturday registering residents on the Downtown river front.
"I have teams all over the city right now, in both KCK and KCMO, just going through the Fiberhoods talking to people, informing them about the product, informing them about the deadline," Casas said.
Google staff and volunteers will continue working until midnight Sunday to get people pre-registered.
