KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A group is making its way through Missouri to gain support for legalizing marijuana.
Wednesday night, Show-Me Cannabis held a town hall meeting in Kansas City.
They say 20,000 people are arrested every year in Missouri for cannabis possession. That makes up one third of all arrests.
"About $150 million every year from prohibiting cannabis and that's about the same amount we spend on our community colleges in this area." Executive Director John Payne said.
The group plans to start a state-wide petition next year to make marijuana legal in Missouri.
