How to handle mice in the winter

This time of year mice start looking for a place to spend winter, and many times that means mice come inside your home. 

We talked with Jeff Archer with Critter Control to learn some of the best ways to prevent mice from getting into your home.

Here are some things we can do to keep mice away: 

  • Be proactive by sealing up your home. This includes around plumbing fixtures and the gas inlet for your stove.
  • Set traps in places where you've seen signs of a mouse, like droppings or a nest.
  • Bait the traps with peanut butter.
  • Place food in concealed containers
