It started as a dispute over a parking ticket. Now Damian Words has settled his lawsuit against Kansas City, Missouri, Police Officer Dale Secor after Secor shot Words with a Taser.

The Investigators first showed the dash cam video of the incident publicly in October. In the video, Words leaves a store he was operating as the clerk when he saw Secor writing a parking ticket for his car parked across the street from the store. When Words wouldn't stop arguing about the ticket, Secor told him he was under arrest and to put his hands behind his back.

With a backup unit within sight and the siren audible on the dash cam video, Secor shot Words with his Taser.

As the investigators reported in October, Secor claimed Words took a threatening position with him like he might attack him. But the dash cam video shows Words was leaning against his car in a relaxed position when Secor shot him with his Taser.

According to Words' attorney, Arthur Benson, the suit was settled for $98,750. In exchange, Words has agreed to drop his lawsuit.

Additionally, court records show the agreement includes no admission of fault of wrongdoing.
