KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Chiefs are going green.
A new partnership with Kansas City Power & Light will focus on solar power. They'll work together to make Arrowhead and the University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex more environmentally friendly.
So far, workers have installed 308 solar panels which is the equivalent of what eight homes would use in a year.
"We are very appreciative of the commitment that Kansas City Power & Light has made to partner with us to go forward, and most importantly, we are very excited about where this is going to take both organizations,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said.
The solar panels also bring a benefit for fans. When you go to Arrowhead, you'll be able to charge your phones using one of five solar powered charging stations.
