KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Mo.received some feedback about the proposed 2014 city budget from residents on Twitter and via email on Wednesday afternoon.
The city is hosted an interactive chat session on Twitter from 3 to 4 p.m.
Residents sent comments or questions to the city via @KCMO on Twitter. Using the hashtag #kcmobudget.
Mayor Sly James, the city manager and other city leaders will answer questions.
"This is a new, innovative way for city leadership to interact with the public on the details of the proposed budget," Mayor James said.
"We got questions about the streetcar project, trash pickup and KCI and it let us know what people are concerned about," Mayor James added.
Twitter and email questions were answered in a matter of minutes.
The city is also hosting public budget hearings on Saturday Feb. 15, Feb. 22, and March 1.
