A Kansas City police officer suffered a head injury after he was dragged and fell from a moving car.

Officers on routine patrol saw two men beating a third man in what appeared to be a robbery at a Walgreens at West 39th Street and Broadway.

One officer got out of the patrol car to break up the fight.

Two suspects got into a car and tried to drive away. The officer held onto the car and was dragged.

He fell from the car and hit his head. The officer has head injuries, cuts and bruises. He's expected to be OK.

Police said the officer was alert and talking when he was taken to a hospital to be examined.

Officials are still looking for the suspect.
