Kansas City Police block off street to play basketball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Mo., Police blocked off a street for a basketball game.

Officers blocked off 42nd and Brooklyn to play ball with some kids Wednesday night.

A video was originally posted on a resident's page and the Kansas City Police Department reposted it on its Facebook page. It’s already been shared hundreds of times and received more than 1000 Likes.

The resident also shared photos of the officers and kids shooting some hoops.

“We’ll take bad guys to jail all day long, but 30 minutes out of the day we can spend interacting with kids. We do it in two or three different neighborhoods here on a monthly basis,” KCPD Officer Todd Templeton said.

Police officers said they had no idea they were being filmed or that their game would get so much attention.
