This is thinking outside the box and in the box at the same time.

On the corner of 59th and Charlotte in KCMO, there is a home like no other: 2,600 square-feet created out of five shipping containers.

According to the owner and designer, Debbie Glassberg, it is a work of art. It is also eco-friendly, from the edible landscaping outdoors to the extremely energy efficient indoors.

It has two master bedrooms, three baths, a great little nook off the dining room and is easy to maintain.

Also, important for our neck of the woods, it is very safe during stormy weather.

This home is on the market for $849,000, but Glassberg is also working on one-container homes near downtown, coming with a 10-year tax abatement, which will be less expensive but every bit as fascinating.

Good for the environment, unique to the neighborhood, and easier on your energy pocketbook!

A house like this may make it hard to contain yourself.
