The best way to describe the atmosphere at the Power and Light District ahead of the game is infectious. Fans have been out here for hours prepping for another potentially history-making game by the University of Kansas.

But one family I spoke to is especially stoked. They are of course rooting for the Jayhawks because they want to see the team advance to the Final Four, but they have a little more skin in the game because their daughter plays an instrument in the band and they want to see her and the team in Arizona next week.

"It would be so exciting to see her experience going to Arizona and experience what she's done here but experience it nationally over national tv," said Susan Coleman, the girl's mom. "The exposure and that experience is tremendous for any young person."

But there are some specks of yellow in this sea of blue as Oregon fans are also out.

"I'm really excited," said Nash Kooken, a seven-year-old Oregon fan. "It's my first Elite Eight game."

A few tips. If you're not down here yet but want to be, a few tips -- parking is pricy -- we're talking $20 to $30. But you can save yourself of serious cash and even find free parking if you park further away and use the street car to get to Power and Light.
