A 48-year-old Kansas City man now faces a second-degree murder charge, accused of fatally stabbing a homeless man in Westport.

The Wednesday stabbing took the life of Jorge Sanchez, who police say ran to a local business for help after Kenneth Tillson stabbed him during an argument.

Witnesses told investigators the two had been together drinking throughout the day before the argument started. It's unclear how the two knew each other.

The report from the prosecutor's office said the fight was reportedly about a female they both knew.

The stabbing was near Westport Road and Southwest Trafficway, per a witness who saw the attack.

When Sanchez ran bleeding into a local business for help, people insdie called 911. Sanchez later died at the hospital.

Police found a knife on the suspect, the report said.

In addition to second-degree murder, Tillson faces an armed criminal action charge.

Prosecutors have requested Tillson be held on a $75,000 cash bond.
