KC man hopes to win trip to Iceland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With your help, a Kansas City man hopes to make his father proud by showing us that with a strong heart, anything is possible.

John Dehaemers was born with musculo-skeletal defects. His father, a Vietnam veteran, passed away recently after struggling with the effects of being exposed to Agent Orange for years. John said his father lived with the guilt that Agent Orange caused his own struggles.

With a focus on health and fitness, John entered a contest by Iceland Glacial Waters. If he wins, he’ll get to train with a professional Crossfit athlete in Iceland where he will compete against nine other finalists.

“I know how this city totally supports people that are their own people and that’s what I’m looking for. I’m just looking to get my story out there and see if people will help me be able to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” John said.

To help, John beat out the other finalists vote here.
