KCFD: Man falls into shredder, loses both legs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man lost both legs Monday morning when he apparently fell into a tire shredder as he was cleaning it at a tire shop in Kansas City, authorities said.
Kansas City Fire Chief James Garrett says the man fell around 10:15 a.m. at ABC Tire LLC, 4401 Gardner, to the south and east of Interstate 435 and E. Front Street.
Authorities on scene report the man lost both legs at mid-thigh.
Emergency crews transported the man to an area hospital.
