The family of Miguel Garcia, the 14-year-old who was shot and killed while walking down the street, want answers as his murderer remains on the loose.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A Kansas City, Kan., family wants answers after a 14-year-old boy was shot and killed walking down the street.
Thursday night, they held a prayer vigil in the 1400 block of Armstrong for Miguel Garcia.
Dozens of people living nearby came to pay their respects to the 8th grader.
Garcia and another teen were walking down the street on Saturday when someone in an SUV fired shots at them, killing Garcia.
"We all have to know the value of life and this is a good reminder for us. Miguel knows more than we do now and how important life is for each person," said Rev. Daniel Gardner of All Saints Parish.
The Garcia family said Miguel loved helping people, especially his mother. He wanted to serve in the Army and be a mechanic.
Police have not made any arrests in the case.
