Officers responding to the scene of a reported crash on Blue Parkway near the Plaza found a man dead inside a vehicle. KCPD said the car had evident damage from bullets and confirmed the incident would be investigated as a homicide.
The crash report came in around 1 a.m. Monday in the 4300 block of Blue Parkway, just south of Brush Creek between Cleveland and Elmwood Avenue.
Initial information from police confirmed the man had been shot, but did not confirm the cause of death.
It was unclear if the shooting was at the same scene as the crash.
As of 4:30 a.m., police had closed Blue Parkway to traffic in the area due to the investigation.
