KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Public Schools is investigating a reported sexual assault at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts.
KCPS said in a statement that on April 17 someone reported a student at the academy was sexually assaulted.
KCPS told 41 Action News the possible suspect is a student.
KCPS is proceeding with a full investigation and is cooperating with the Kansas City Police Department.

On April 17, 2017 it was reported to us that a student at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts was allegedly the victim of a sexual assault. Since learning of these very serious and troubling allegations, KCPS administration is proceeding with a full investigation and is fully cooperating with the Kansas City Police Department. All district and state protocols are being and will continue to be followed throughout the investigation. We take the safety of our students very seriously, and are committed to ensuring that our buildings are safe and secure for our children and staff.
