KSHB, KMCI receive Business Philanthropist of the Year award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City is known for its generous spirit and on Tuesday, Nonprofit Connect presented its 30th Annual Philanthropy Awards.

The awards honor those who give their time, talent and treasure to make the Kansas City area better.

41 Action News and our sister station 38 the Spot received the Business Philanthropist of the Year award.

Our nomination came from the Susan G. Komen organization.

Cynthia Newsome accepted on behalf of our team with an inspiring and emotional message.

Other honorees included: Jan Regan, Volunteer of the Year for her work at Ronald McDonald House; Jane Chu, Business Professional of the Year and Benny Lee, Philanthropist of the Year.
