LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - A Lee’s Summit North High School senior won a champion title for humorous interpretation.
Ben Gruenbaum won the champion title at the Speech and Debate National Tournament held at the Overland Park Convention Center.
Humorous interpretation consists of a piece from any published work portrayed in a humorous way. Gruenbaum performed a mafia piece titled Black Fedora for the win.
“I used to look up at these people on the national stage,” Gruenbaum said. “Knowing I’m one of them and the actual champ is just hard to believe.”
You may see Gruenbaum’s work in the future. He said he wants to become an actor.
