LIBERTY, Mo. - Brandon Fletcher, 17, faces six charges including first degree murder and kidnapping in the death of Liberty man Mark Thomas, 58.
Court officials decided last week that Fletcher would not be tried in juvenile court. He will be arraigned on these charges Monday in a Clay County court.
The victim's family reported him missing in January. A few days later, his tortured body was found near Smithville Lake. Prosecutors also charged Zachary Lisle, 20, in Thomas' death.
According to the probable cause statement, Thomas gave the two a ride home. On the way home, the two suspects made Thomas pull over, and then hit him in the head with an unknown object. They then took him to a park restroom near Smithville Lake.
