GRANDVIEW, Mo. -- From front yards to huge holiday displays, in a few short years the brothers who started Jolt Lighting said they now serve customers across the country and the world.

“Guam, Chile, Puerto Rico,” said Skylar O’Dell.

He and his older brother Aaron started the company in a garage.

“In three years, we have, I mean, doubled and then quadrupled,” Skylar said.

Aaron has worked in the industry for several years. When they started, Skylar was new to it.

They said their customizable computerized light displays range from singing characters to entire light parks. You might have seen some of their work around Kansas City this year.

“Deanna Rose Farmstead. We helped bring Worlds of Fun’s Winterfest to life this year, the Downtown Dazzle in Washington Square Park,” said Aaron, listing the displays they helped create.

Their products have a wide price range, from displays for your house to full light parks.

Their "Christmas In a Box” helps program any light display you might already have to music for about $1,000.

“We have orders that are in the upper six-figure orders,” said Skylar.

They said they have also started to make more lights for Halloween displays too.

They said keeping up with demand has meant a lot of 18-hour days, but this is work they enjoy once it leaves their warehouse too.

“Seeing kids dancing and adults singing along,” said Aaron. “That’s really what it’s about.”
