KANSAS CITY, Mo. - An area couple celebrated a major milestone Tuesday.
Ferril and Annibel Hagan celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. The couple married on August 12th, 1939.
He was 21-years-old, and she was 16-years-old.
They lived on a farm near Trenton, Mo., until this year when they moved into an assisted living facility in Kearney, Mo.
The couple said in 75 years they never slept in separate beds.
When asked what is the best part of being married that long, Ferril answered, "You don't have to pay nobody alimony. She helps keep the bed warm."
The couple also took many trips through the years.
“We visited Niagara Falls for our 45th anniversary,” Ferril said. “I had to make sure she would stick with me before I took her on a honeymoon.”
Ferril's family has a history of long marriages. His grandparents were married 50 years and his parents for 63 years.
