PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - Parking spots were hard to come by at local grocery stores on Saturday as a winter storm approached the metro.
The Hy-Vee store in Prairie Village, Kan., was tough to navigate, especially down the baking aisle.
Store management told 41 Action news the Saturday before Christmas is always a bust grocery store.
With the snow coming, people were stocking up for holiday get together's even earlier.
They weren't just grabbing milk and eggs, they were also grabbing sugar, flour and sprinkles, and egg nog.
"I think everybody's convinced they'll never be able to go to the grocery store again," said shopper Charlie Hammond.
This Saturday has been dubbed ‘Super Saturday,' and is typically the second busiest day behind Black Friday.
