It's something many dream of doing: quitting their job and chasing their passion. Now, one local woman is doing just that.
Michelle Gressel, a mother of three, quit her job in the hotel business last week and became a full-time artist.
Gressel has been creating art for years on the side, even speaking to groups about its healing abilities, but felt she was burning the candle at both ends.
Now that she's gone full-time with her passion, Gressel said it just feels right.
"It's scary, there are a lot of unknowns, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I just feel this is a freedom that I've never felt before," she said.
Gressel has done pieces for a couple of locally-owned McDonalds locations, Coca Cola and the City of Olathe. You can check out her work at thetornedge.com.
