KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City firefighters were called to a house fire at 90th & Holmes in Kansas City shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Two people were inside the home and escaped, along with a dog who also was safe. One man was being treated for smoke inhalation and taken to the hospital, but his condition is not known at this time. Firefighters said the fire started in the basement.
Fire crews reported heavy smoke and fire showing upon arrival. The fire was reported under control about 9 a.m.
