Man nearly drowns at YMCA, resuscitated by CPR and taken to area hospital

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A young man was resuscitated by CPR after almost drowning at the YMCA.

The KCMO police said a 19-year-old man was found in the deep end of the pool at the Vivion Road YMCA at 1101 NE 47th Street. He was taken out of the pool, and officials performed CPR and resuscitated him.

Responders said the man suffered from a leg cramp and was unable to swim.

He has been taken to an area hospital. The pool has been closed for the immediate future.
