A man was hit and killed by a vehicle at I-435 and Cookingham just before 11:00 p.m. Friday.
Officers say a Dodge pickup was southbound when a pedestrian stepped from the right shoulder into the traffic lane and was hit by the vehicle.
The man suffered severe injuries and later died at an area hospital.
The driver stopped immediately and provided a statement to investigators.
The deceased man has not yet been identified.
