GARDNER, Kan. - There's a burglar on the prowl in Gardner.
Police believe the man broke into the Metcalf Bank on Main Street and made it as far as the vault.
Workers at Tres Chic Beauty Salon two blocks away said he broke into their building as well.
"It wasn't until later in the day that we realized that they tried to get into the actual salon entrance door, but he didn't try very hard because he spent a lot of time getting in the back door but didn't spend much time in the building," explained Kerry Shields, who works at the salon.
A picture from the surveillance camera shows the intruder covered his face with a bandana.
But the masked bandit didn't get away with much.
Shields said, "I mean it's an eye doctor building, the majority of the building is an optometrist office, there's no money here and the salon doesn't keep cash."
The burglar left the office building and bank empty-handed.
The only loss came from the damage he caused breaking in.
"It didn't appear that they messed with any other doors or even went downstairs. It was just odd," remarked Shields.
If you recognize the person in the pictures, you're asked to call Gardner police or the TIPS hotline.
