Hundreds of men with Sheffield Family Life Center near 9th and Winner Road marched through the streets of downtown Kansas City calling and praying for change.

The men started at the church and walked through neighborhoods singing songs and praying for an end to violence in Kansas City. Pastor George Westlake, III pointed to the violence that plagues Kansas City and the nation as proof that men need to step up in their homes and community.

George Westlake, III is the senior pastor at Sheffield Family Life Center.

"We are representing all people. We just want to make a difference in our city. We want to feed that spirit of peace rather than that spirit of warfare," said Westlake, III.

Church leaders plan to invite other religious organizations to future prayer walks.
