LEAWOOD, Kan. - A Leawood woman has combined her passions and is now ready to take her show on the road.
Heather "Bizi" Ferguson is not your typical entrepreneur. The 23-year-old Kansas graduate has figured out a way to combine her two passions; horse shows and fashion.
"This is the Bizibee Boutique. I started this store based off a blog; a fashion blog that I did," Ferguson shared.
Ferguson walked through her 1969 Airstream trailer with great pride as she explained that she bought it off Craigslist for $4,000 and had it renovated into a boutique. The silver trailer is full of trendy clothes and must have accessories.
A boutique that she hopes will be the talk of the event at her next competitive horse show.
"I'm a jumper rider. It's my passion: I was bit by the horse bug as a young kid," Ferguson shared.
Ferguson started competing in horse shows in elementary school. After graduating from college and working in the "real world," she quickly realized something was missing.
"I didn't like the whole cubicle thing, and I wanted to keep riding my horses, so I decided to take what I love on the road," Ferguson said.
The Bizibee Boutique will take its maiden voyage in February to the Gulf Coast Horse Show in Mississippi. In the meantime, she'll look for opportunities to open her trailer in the metro to share her combined passions with others.
