KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Midland Theater officially announced a new partnership with Arvest Bank on Wednesday.
Arvest has acquired a multi-year naming rights deal to the historic Midland Theater.
AMC Theatres left downtown and moved across the state line to Overland Park after the state of Kansas offered it almost $50 million in tax incentives.
The announcement coincides with the celebration of the venue's fifth anniversary since it re-opened in 2008.
"We do a lot of comedy. We built the system around the spoken word," General Manager Larry Hovick said. "So when Jerry Seinfeld comes back he wants to come back every year, Bill Cosby loves it here and he wants to come back every year, Jim Gaffigan has come here."
Starting Friday, the venue will officially become the Arvest Bank Theater at the Midland.
