Missing Kansas City man found safe in Illinois

KANSAS CITY, Mo - Police in Kansas City, Mo., are asking for your help finding a missing elderly man with dementia.

Meldon E. Wesley, 86, was last seen Wednesday at about 12 p.m. in his home near 64th and Walrond.

He left his house in his blue 2003 GMC Envoy to go to a friend's house, but never showed up.

Wesley, who police say is in the early stages of dementia, is 5 foot 6 and about 215 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes.

Wesley's GMC has Missouri license plates, but police did not have a number to pass along.

UPDATE: Wesley's family report he has been found safe, though disoriented, in Morris, Ill.
