Missing Pitt State student found dead

OLATHE, Kansas - A missing Pittsburg State student has been found dead in Olathe. Joshua Hancock,21, of Linn Co., Kansas was found near 151st and Lone Elm Road  on Friday, Aug. 20. Hancock was last seen leaving the Great Mall on Aug. 5 after going to a bar with co-workers. 

Hancock's parents Jennifer and John Harnett started looking for Hancock shortly after he went missing.

"It wasn't ending that we wanted, but at least we know," said Jennifer Harnett.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at 6:10 PM Friday night after a caller told them that they had located Hancock's vehicle. The car left the roadway in an isolated area and was found about 60 feet from the road's tree line. Hancock was found inside of the car.

'The only thing that we know is that he went down the road about two miles from here roughly, and hit a dead end road and went up over an embankment," said John Harnett.

 

A search operation scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 21 has been cancelled.
