KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fixing customer service at Kansas City's water department will have to wait.
City council postponed a vote on a $12 million contract until August.
The 41 Action News investigators were the first to question the contract.
City leaders plan to award it to an out-of-state consulting firm without a competitive bidding process.
Councilwoman Jan Marcuson says more details are needed before moving forward.
"We want what's best for the taxpayers," Marcasson said.
The Missouri state auditor sent a letter to Mayor Sly James asking for the city's support for an audit due to customers' complaints.
No decision has been made regarding that request.
