A man on a motorcycle died Thursday evening after his motorcycle collided with a tractor trailer on I-435 near Truman Road.
The accident happened about 6:15 p.m. Police said the motorcyclist ran off the interstate into the grassy median. He drove the motorcycle out of the grass and onto the highway. The man lost control of the motorcycle and was hit by the tractor-trailer.
The truck driver stayed at the scene and talked with police.
The highway was shut down while police investigated the crash. It reopened by 8 p.m.
