KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Neighbors aren't used to seeing such a heavy police presence and definitely are not used to hearing of violence that left three dead and two injured.
Following the shooting that left three people dead and two others critically injured at a home near Wornall Road and Blue Ridge Boulevard on Tuesday, police blocked off several roads, letting very few people pass to get to their homes.
Neighbors said the community is usually very quiet and is home to a number a retired people.
“I'm a little nervous. I want to find out just exactly what happened. Was it random? … If they knew each other and there was some issue, that doesn't bother me so much, but if it was just a random act, that scares me," Emily Edmisten, a neighbor, said.
Police closed Wornall Road near 127th, diverting traffic onto Holmes, until about 8:40 p.m.
