#NotInMyName: Islamic Center of Johnson County fights back against ISIS

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -

The Islamic Center of Johnson County is fighting back against ISIS.

Arif Ahmad, with the center, hung the #NotInMyName banner outside the new mosque being built in Overland Park.

"I don’t think I need to say anything more except not in my name," Amhad said. "You use your name, my name is Islam, your actions do not represent Islam so you use your real name “terrorism."

The acronym 'ISIS' stands for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

However, Ahmad explained this extremist group doesn't represent Islam.

"Nothing that they do has anything in common with what we stand for and I think that says it all."
