KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Mothers don't forget the birth of their child, especially when the little one can't wait.
In this case, baby Branyla's parents raced to the University of Kansas hospital Tuesday, but only made it to the parking lot!
Marilee Clites, a nurse at the hospital, was waiting for the bus to go home when she heard a woman who sounded scared.
"I went and told them we need a wheelchair, came back and explained help is on the way," Clites said. "I looked down, the baby is coming out."
Clites had been a nurse for 30 years but hadn't delivered a baby since the first months out of nursing school. She said her basic training just kicked in.
Mother and child are doing just fine.
