Kansas City Police say around 1 a.m. a man driving north on Noland Road near 54th Terrace died after crashing 50 feet through a guard rail.

Early reports indicate the driver passed another car, then lost control of the vehicle when he was coming back into his lane. From there, he drove through a guard rail and the force ejected him.

The crash report said the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt.

Investigators suspect the driver may have been impaired.

The driver's identity has not been released, pending notification of family.
