KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 27-year-old man died Sunday when he lost control of his car and hit another vehicle near the intersection of 31st Street and Southwest Boulevard.
The crash occurred just before noon Sunday.
Kansas City, Mo., Police Sgt. Deborah Randol said the man's red Camaro was heading east to west on 31st Street at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road just before 31st Street meets Southwest Boulevard.
His car struck another vehicle waiting to exit the QuikTrip parking lot onto 31st Street, killing the driver and injuring his passenger. The female passenger was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, and she is expected to survive. The female driver of the stationary vehicle was uninjured.
