KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For decades Della Lamb Community Services has worked to make Christmas more special for families in the Kansas City metro area.

In its 43rd year, Operation Santa Claus will provide toys, clothes, food and other items to families in need this holiday season.

Distribution will soon begin for nearly 1,300 pre-qualified families at 500 Woodland Ave., but organizers said they're still in need of certain items.

“We’re really short on gifts of new gloves, mostly for adults and kids, and then gifts of financial gifts as well," Della Lamb Executive Director Judy Akers said.

They’re asking for help so the ‘season of giving’ doesn’t stop early.

Cash donations to Della Lamb are welcomed. A $50 tax-deductible donation will provide a family with toys and all of the grocery items needed for a complete Christmas dinner.
